The Compiled HTML Help (.chm) format is a help file format used by many Windows applications. On Windows, CHM files are opened by an application called hh.exe; on Linux systems, various viewer applications are available. Unlike the WinHelp (.hlp) format, which is obsolete as of Windows Vista, Compiled HTML Help is still supported.
