Usually a personal account on a computer system that allows access to a system's (advanced) functions.

A user account may be protected from malicious use by means of a password or other authentication method. Often a user account is created along with a personal (and sometimes restricted) space on the system's storage medium. User accounts are commonly created by the system's administrator but other users may also be given that option.
