I had a problem regarding Yersinia. I entered the command sudo yersinia -G to open GUI version of yersinia, but unfortunately, it is not running. It doesn't give any error or anything.

It just doesn't open. But when I tried to open the GUI version in my Ubuntu machine, it opened. However, in my kali machine it doesn't. I updated and upgraded my machine, I removed and reinstalled yersinia and I searched for help online but I was unable to find any. I am using kali-linux inside my virtualbox.

  • Do you have the dependencies installed? https://www.kali.org/tools/yersinia/ – John Sep 01 '23 at 14:35
  • Also try: sudo apt-get --fix-missing update to get missing updates. ..... and.... sudo apt-get dist-upgrade to install new dependencies – John Sep 01 '23 at 14:40
  • Yes I have dependencies installed. I have even manually installed all of them. I have done what you said and then removed and reinstalled again and unfortunately it is still same. – HayreddinBarbarossa Sep 01 '23 at 17:15
  • Also I have realized that in the yersinia.log it is giving an error. The error message is "pcap_open_live failed: dbus-session: Failed to get session bus: /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally without any error message" (I have just saw the .log file now) – HayreddinBarbarossa Sep 01 '23 at 17:27
  • Try installing PCAP and dependencies. https://support.888voip.com/article/286-how-to-get-pcaps-from-linux – John Sep 01 '23 at 17:30
  • Do you know how to use Kali? It is not user friendly so spend some time learning it. – John Sep 01 '23 at 23:47
  • Yeah I know how to use kali. I just didn't know how to solve this issue and neither did you. Because I solved this problem and it had nothing to do anything you said. – HayreddinBarbarossa Sep 02 '23 at 08:47
  • You certainly did not add any useful information to the question. – John Sep 02 '23 at 10:57
