Standalone means without Office. As far as found out the UWP version of OneNote was silently discontinued, and now the Windows Store offers only desktop one. When I start installing it from Store it starts installing the whole Office with standard ClictToRun Installer, and I don't want that.

While I see this is not the full-featured Office installation and it installs only the libraries and components required by OneNote, I don't like this silent way anyway.

Is there a way to download standalone package, either UWP and desktop one?

P.S. Question How to reinstall OneNote for Windows 10 without using the Microsoft Store? is partly connected to mine but it is not a full duplicate, I am interested in both UWP and non UWP app.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/onenote/digital-note-taking-app is the main site where you can download it (formerly https://onenote.com). If you don't want the ClickToRun version you may be out of luck as that is the standalone version. – Mokubai Aug 30 '23 at 05:14
  • Microsoft only uses ClickToRun installers for Office products. OneNote is an Office product. There is no other way to install OneNote – Ramhound Aug 30 '23 at 11:54
  • I am not fanatically against ClickToOne, but I got an impression it installs a bunch of other things, not only OneNote, no? – Suncatcher Aug 30 '23 at 20:42
