I am linking an Excel spreadsheet to a Visio drawing, then using Advanced Data Graphics to visualize the data behind each shape. Currently, I have two Data Graphics applied. 1) Displays text within the shape and 2) color by value.
I would like to add a data graphic that is a background pattern to each shape based on a third and separate value.
I know this must be accomplished in Shape Sheet. I understand there are numeric codes for each of the background patterns and that once a background pattern is applied, the foreground and background colors are switched.
I found the following two posts that were helpful, but I was not able to achieve my goal by trying to replicate them.

The User-defined cell "User.visDGCBVFill" contains the following formula for the Color by Value argument... =IF(STRSAME("Confirmed",Prop._VisDM_DNA,TRUE),RGB(0,176,80),IF(STRSAME("Inconclusive",Prop._VisDM_DNA,TRUE),THEME(RGB(191,159,64)),IF(STRSAME("Incorrect",Prop._VisDM_DNA,TRUE),RGB(255,0,0),IF(STRSAME("Untested",Prop._VisDM_DNA,TRUE),MSOTINT(RGB(255,255,255),-15),1.5))))
From what I understand, the Fill Format cells on the Shape Sheet are automatically populated by the formulas in User-defined Cells, is this correct?
- I am not sure of which cell in the
Shape Sheetto enter the formula and also the proper syntax of the formula. - Is the "
User.visDGCBVFill" cell the same cell I would enter the argument for the background pattern? Would it be nested within the existing formula? - Last, will the
Legendupdate with the new background patterns?
