I recently bought Xiaomi AX3000 2 pack Mesh devices. I thought that would be enough to cover my 3BR apartment but I was wrong. I am still left with full one room as deadzone.

Through my internet provider, I have a Linksys Velop VLP01 router which I would like to use a 3rd child node.

Is it possible? Can anyone guide me through the steps? If I cannot use it as a child node, do you suggest I use Velop as a repeater? Can anyone guide me through that process?

  • you can't mix and match different mesh devices from different brands at the moment. There's a future standard called purple that would allow it but not yet – Journeyman Geek Nov 25 '22 at 06:42
  • Thanks for your response. Is it possible to use Velop as a repeater/extender? I was reading about bridge mode.. Not sure if it makes sense. – Ankit Agarwal Nov 25 '22 at 06:45
  • Bridge mode would need a wired backhaul I think – Journeyman Geek Nov 25 '22 at 06:48
  • Issue with Bridge mode, I can use one network like 2.4ghz or 5 ghz. My Xiaomi mesh has 3 networks - 2.4ghz, 5ghz and guest and I would all the 3 to be available everywhere. – Ankit Agarwal Nov 29 '22 at 07:38
