Appreciate the help in advance... I am trying to set up a workstation (for the first time) on my own that myself and my fiance will be able to use between my PC desktop, PC laptop, and his macbook using dual monitors. All computers have previously been able to successfully connect directly monitors. I have purchased THREE different KVM switch/hub devices from Amazon, and all of them are giving me the same problems.
- None of these devices (I will list below) detect a second monitor. Both monitors are new Dell monitors. The switches I've purchased only connect via HDMI to monitors. At first I thought the first switch I bought just had a faulty HDMI input, so I bought a second (and third) and still no luck. They will display either PC on one monitor, no problem. I can switch the HDMI cords between the two HDMI hubs, and it will only detect in Monitor 1 slot. Otherwise, the switches work well, detect keyboard, mouse, etc. and switch between devices just fine.
- None of the three devices will detect Macbooks. We have 2 older Macs that only have a minidisplayport input. I have tried a minidisplay-HDMI adapter that I KNOW works when directly plugged into a monitor directly, so I don't think the adapter is directly the problem. The macs will detect keyboard and mouse through the USB input of the switches.
Here are the products I have tried:

Macbook versions are A1466 and A1278 (yes old, but really only used to edit music, and they work just fine).
