"Unless you believe you will not understand" - St. Augustine of Hippo

Although I doubt anyone is checking on my profile page, I guess I'll just say a little bit about my interests. I'm an English major. I love mythology on a purely entertaining level. Ditto for fantasy books. I find there is more truth in most fairy tales than there is in most works of 'philosophy.' I think there is a clear overuse of the critical method; this has dire consequences on intelligent philosophy, the spirit and community. I value all the paradoxes of hope over the clarity of cynicism. I fear becoming isolated from those who have shown me devotion for all of my life. I think we've lost an appreciation for philosophy as a way of life.
