I recently replaced a number of shutoffs with SharkBite brand push on fittings. These seem to work well and hold water. More expensive, but cheaper than relearning to solder for a small job. The only issue I have is that they spin around. I can find…

How do you push 1" PVC pipe into a 1" brass push fitting? It won't go in. Is a special tool needed? UPDATE I made a mistake. Push fittings only work with CPVC, pex or copper, not PVC.

If you use a 1/2" CPVC push fit ball valve as a cap on a 1/2" copper pipe, is it possible that the water pressure could eventually send the valve flying off the end of the pipe? That'd result in a lot more serious water problem than just a mere…
