Questions tagged [recovery-mode]

Questions about using and getting tasks done with the command line recovery mode.

In case a system fails to boot for some reason, recovery mode can be used to boot into the system (sometimes a quicker alternative to using a CD/DVD etc. for recovery operations). This mode just loads some basic services and gives a command line mode and tasks can/will be done as root (the superuser). System repair can be done using command line tools.
