Li Yuan
(566–635)

Li Yuan (李淵), courtesy name Shude (叔德), was the founder of the Tang (唐) dynasty of China, and the first emperor of this dynasty from 618 to 626, posthumously known as Emperor Gaozu of Tang (唐高祖) by temple name Gaozu.
