I studied clarinet while in middle school and high school. I made All-State band in Texas in the late 1970's. In college I studied clarinet from the Principal Clarinetist in Houston Symphony. I graduated with both. a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Music Education. I taught beginner woodwind classes for thirty four years. During this time I played clarinet in several different community bands.

Since retiring I plan to continue playing in a community band.
