Questions tagged [guitar-neck]

The neck is the part of certain string instruments that projects from the main body and is the base of the fingerboard, where the fingers are placed to stop the strings at different pitches.

The neck, or mast, is the rigid part of a stringed instrument that projects from the resonating chamber, to which the strings are affixed at the opposite end. Different pitches are produced by stopping the strings against the fingerboard of the neck at different positions.
