My bluetooth was working fine with my headdphone. But somehow i accidentally turned off the bluetooth. But now i am unable to toggle bluetooth switch in the settings on my Ubuntu 18.04. Bluetooth icon is not even showing in drop down list.I tried solving it like some of the similar issues, but it didn't work.

Can't toggle the switch:

  • If it does not even have an icon and the switch is grayed out for some reason you have no Bluetooth hardware and or driver. What did you do to cause this? What steps have you taken to try and correct it? Please be exact. – David Apr 19 '21 at 13:55
  • Try apt list | grep blue | grep installed | less to get list of bluetooth install and reinstalling sudo apt purge bluez - sudo apt install bluez – Keith5001 Apr 19 '21 at 14:01

  • Recently I got many large auto-updates on Ubuntu 20.04.3. Suddenly I noticed the Bluettooth icon is missing. Did try many suggestions but it is not showing. In Settings it displayed > Bluetooth not found. Enter a dongle to use Bluetooth. How to check if this is a hardware problem? – bluepearlsky Mar 06 '22 at 12:06
